What is healthcare?

The enhancement of health through the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, amelioration, or cure of disease, illness, injury, and other physical and mental limitations in humans is known as healthcare or health care delivery. Health professionals and other related health areas provide healthcare.

Primary health care guarantees that patients receive high-quality, all-encompassing care that is as near to their daily surroundings as possible. This care includes promotion and prevention as well as treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care.

Nurses differ from other types of healthcare providers in that they have a broad scope of practice and approach to medical care. They play an important role in promoting health, preventing illness, and caring for all people, including the disabled and those who are physically or mentally ill.

Workplace

The majority of nurses work in hospitals, where they provide medical care to patients with illnesses. A nurse’s potential workplaces include residential care homes, in-home care services, governmental services, military, schools, and research facilities.

The physical demands of the job are significant, and nurses are prone to back injuries as a result of having to lift and move objects or patients around. Furthermore, due to exposure to bacteria, viruses, and hazardous drugs or substances in the workplace, nurses are at risk of infection or illness. To reduce this risk, proper sanitization and safety procedures should be followed.
